Disappointing stats so far for Aaron Judge in the 2024 MLB postseason

The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers will face off in the 2024 World Series, and one of the The most important player in all of Major League Baseball is Aaron Judge, the outfielder for the ‘Bronx Bombers’. He will likely be a key figure in their quest for the title.

Is Judge saving himself for the World Series?

Unfortunately for Yankees fans, however, Judge has struggled during the postseason. Are batting average dropped from .322 in the regular season to .161, with just five hits in 31 at-bats during the Division Series against the Kansas City Royals and the Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians.

Judge, who led the regular season with 58 home runs, hit just two home runs in nine playoff games. During the regular season, he averaged a home run every 2.7 games, but in the postseason, that number has increased to every 4.5 games.

Despite his struggles, Opposing pitchers still respect Aaron Judge for his plate discipline. The Yankees outfielder is averaging 4,172 pitches per at-bat. Additionally, he has drawn seven walks, one of which was intentional. Of his 41 plate appearances in the postseason, Judge has struck out 13 times.

A glimmer of hope for Judge

Although Judge hasn’t performed at his best, there is a glimmer of hope for him in the World Series. His performance improved from the Division Series to the Championship Series, which could be a sign of what fans can expect in the World Series.

Against Cleveland, Judge managed to score six runs, and two of his three hits against the Guardians were home runs. This upward trend could bode well for Judge as he tries to regain his form on baseball’s biggest stage.
