A complaint has been filed with Korea’s National Human Rights Commission over inappropriate comments made by Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun to the National Audit Office.

The National Coalition for the Prevention of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities held a press conference today (24th) in front of the Human Rights Commission in Jung-gu, Seoul, where it denounced Minister Kim for making disparaging remarks about disabled people and received a petition.

They argued that Minister Kim, who attended the parliamentary audit on the 8th, wrote expletives (byeongsin) stating that he cannot avoid saying what he has to say in his military uniform, which amounts to contempt for the disabled.

He also pointed out that it is not a real apology for what Secretary Kim regretted that the expression was exaggerated.
