Andrew Reid, much-loved star of Network 10 show Bondi Rescue, pleads not guilty to domestic violence charges in court

Andrew Reid, a lifeguard and star of hit TV show Bondi Rescue, has appeared in court to face domestic violence charges over three alleged assaults in Sydney.

The beloved reality TV star, affectionately known as “Reidy,” 45, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of common assault (domestic violence) that allegedly occurred in November 2022 and January 2024 in the city’s North Shore .

According to police, a further charge of causing actual bodily harm (domestic violence) occurred on March 24 this year.

A fourth charge of domestic violence was dismissed.

The allegations are reportedly from the same woman, who is currently listed as a protected person under an ongoing domestic violence warrant against Reid.

The 45-year-old appeared at a hearing with his lawyer Margaret Cunineen to oppose the allegations against him.

Ms Cunneen said the allegations would be “vigorously defended”.

“There are three very different allegations with a long time between them, the defense of which could be the result of an accident,” she told The Sydney Morning Herald.

As well as being Bondi Rescue’s most ‘lovable star’, Reid made headlines during the Westfield stabbing attack in April following his selfless acts of courage when he risked his life to help injured victims.

“I saw a woman bleeding really badly and I thought I had to go over there and help,” he said at the time.

Reid was safely sheltered behind the doors of a store when the stabbing occurred. He then requested that a guard be released so he could help the victims.

Reid’s case against the domestic violence charges will continue in March next year.
