18-year-old driver leads officers on high-speed chase through Traverse City – 9&10 News

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office said a driver chased them at a high rate of speed Tuesday evening.

An officer spotted an unmarked black Chevy pickup at 31 North and 72 East in Traverse City and tried to stop the driver, but said they were traveling south at about 90 miles per hour.

The deputy called for backup and stop sticks were placed at West Front Street and Garfield Road. When the driver saw the nails, the sheriff’s office said he stopped.

The 18-year-old driver told officers he had no insurance or registration and panicked. He was arrested. The passenger in the car was not charged
