There are 21 patients waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Kerry.

This is evident from figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives’ Organization.

In UHK’s emergency department, 14 patients are on trolleys, while a further seven people are waiting on trolleys in the wards.

Nationally, there are currently 489 people waiting for beds.

The University Hospital Limerick is hardest hit by overcrowding, with 84 people waiting for trolleys.
