Pranav Chawda becomes CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank India

The unit of US banking giant JP Morgan said it has received Reserve Bank approval for the appointment of Chawda as CEO of the banking entity in India.

Chawda joined JP Morgan in 2019 and leads the commercial banking vertical. His responsibilities will now be expanded, with him also heading the corporate banking entity, according to an official statement.

To enhance customer experience, the entity is integrating its commercial and corporate banking operations in India, which is also in line with the company-wide announcement early this year.

“As CEO of our banking entity, Pranav’s experience and deep knowledge of the local market will enable him to play a pivotal role in driving the corporate banking business forward,” said Kaustubh Kulkarni, senior country officer and vice chairman, Asia Pacific , from JP Morgan.

He added that the entity wants to take advantage of the opportunities that India offers.

Chawda joined JP Morgan as head of client banking and specialty industries serving mid-market companies headquartered in India, the statement said.
