Eau Claire man convicted of illegal firearms possession

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) – On Tuesday, an Eau Claire man was sentenced to five and a half years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.

On January 1, 2024, Damon Clark, 26, pointed a loaded firearm at another person during a fight. When police arrived, Clark fled into an adjacent parking lot. After Clark’s arrest, police found a loaded handgun under a nearby vehicle. There was an attachment that converts a semi-automatic pistol into a machine gun, which is illegal.

Clark admitted this on August 20, 2024.
