Outrage in Bengaluru over fatal building collapse amid allegations of government misconduct

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has sharply criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government in the wake of a deadly building collapse in Bengaluru, denouncing what he described as serious corruption. He argued that the unauthorized construction in the city reflects a broader trend of neglect under the current administration.

Bhandari accused state leaders, including Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, of prioritizing personal gain over public safety, highlighting the loss of innocent lives as evidence of failed governance. He further suggested that such incidents amount to murder and demanded accountability, insisting that the government’s responsibility should be borne by senior figures.

The response follows the recovery of five bodies and several injured after the collapse of an under-construction building, exacerbated by heavy rain. Authorities continue to search for survivors with national and state disaster response teams deployed on the ground, as criticism of the government mounts.
