Man charged in gang overdose at Eagles Club in Ravenna

RAVENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – Ravenna police announced Tuesday that a man has been charged in connection with a group overdose at an Eagles Club in the city.

According to a press release from the Ravenna Police Department, a Portage County grand jury has indicted Jamie Perry, 40, of Ravenna, on six counts of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; and four counts of trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds, fifth-degree felonies.

Investigators say emergency responders were called to the Eagles Club on Cleveland Road in June 2024, where they administered life-saving measures to several people who had overdosed. Six people were treated for overdose and five were taken to hospital for further medical care.

Police said in a news release that the department is “fully committed to addressing the opioid epidemic and holding individuals accountable for their role in participating in the crisis.”

Perry was arraigned on Monday. He is due back in Portage County Court on November 26.
