Mitesh Patel at Sun Cable gets conditional approval to import 1.75 GW of low-carbon electricity

Singapore has given a conditional nod to Sun Cable importing enough low-carbon energy to meet about nine percent of Singapore’s electricity needs. This will come from a solar park in Australia. Mitesh Patel, Interim CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Sun Cable, talks about his company’s next steps beyond obtaining conditional approval – including working with other countries in the region to lay cables, monitoring and minimizing the impact on the environment, how the project will support Singapore’s intention to be a regional trading hub for clean energy and keep electricity affordable for all.
