Giovanni Pernice’s three-word response while referencing Strictly return | Television and radio | Showbiz and TV

Professional dancer Giovanni Pernice hinted at a possible return to Strictly Come Dancing during a chat with Christine Lampard, despite the recent ‘bullying’ controversy involving actress Amanda Abbington.

Giovanni appeared on ITV’s Lorraine to share his perspective following accusations from the Sherlock star that he “bullied” her and was occasionally aggressive towards her.

The BBC has conducted a thorough internal investigation to investigate Amanda’s serious allegations. The review confirmed cases of verbal bullying and intimidation, but rejected claims of physical aggression.

The Italian dance champion expressed his desire to present his side of the story and his “relief” after being cleared of Amanda’s “threatening and insulting” accusations, which turned out to be unfounded.

In June, the BBC stated that Giovanni, a dedicated cast member since 2015, would not be invited back for the 2024 season. However, now that he has been cleared of serious charges, there may be a possibility for his return, reports the Mirror.

As the explosive interview ended, Christine asked the professional dancer one last question: “Will we see you again on Strictly Come Dancing?”

Giovanni shifted uncomfortably in his seat before responding to Christine, “I think I’m just really focused on Dancing With the Stars Italy right now.”

Giovanni has hinted at a possible return to England and revealed plans for a tour that will take him back to British shores. “I have a tour in January, so I’ll definitely be back to the UK from January to July. Who knows, never say never,” he revealed.

In the same breath, Giovanni discussed the recent controversies and admitted that while he was sometimes “frustrated” with Amanda, it was only because he recognized her “brilliant” abilities and wanted to push her to reveal her “full potential and talent.” .

He vehemently denied any “aggressive” behavior towards the actress and expressed relief at the conclusion of the channel’s complaints procedure. Speaking to Christine, Giovanni clarified the results of the survey: “First of all, the survey showed that I am not a bully and that is exactly why I feel relieved now and it is important to correct that because ‘bully’ is a big word. .”

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am.
