UVM celebrates new accessibility feature for campus bus stops

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – University of Vermont students are making it easier to take the bus on campus.

Members of the Student Government Association will cut the ribbon Tuesday at a campus bus station to celebrate years of efforts to make them more accessible.

Since last year, the student government and the UVM Students with Disabilities Union have started a project to install benches at major bus stops on campus for students who cannot stand for long periods of time.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
