Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has sparked backlash after he shared a video of himself eating termites, or ‘kumbe kumbe’ as they are known in Kiswahili.

The clip showed the lawmaker enjoying the termites in a bucket.

Salasya was in his car with his security officers, who also ate the termites.

While they were eating, they made hilarious comments about the dangers of eating termites, which they said could cause stomach upset.
