SCHP confirms arrest after bicycle crash in Horry County

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – One person and another were arrested following a crash in Horry County involving a bicycle over the weekend.

Horry County Fire Rescue said the wreck happened Sunday afternoon in the area of ​​Highway 90 and Bear Bluff Road. The agency added that one person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

LCpl. Lena Butler of the South Carolina Highway Patrol later confirmed that 88-year-old Theodis Bellamy had been arrested in connection with the crash. He is accused of a collision that left him with minor injuries.

Records show Bellamy was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Sunday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
