Realme confirms the Snapdragon 8 Elite for its GT 7 Pro flagship

Realme confirms the Snapdragon 8 Elite for its GT 7 Pro flagship

October is an important month for smartphones. This is not just because of all the new flagships that are released. No, it’s because of the new flagship smartphone chips coming out this month – perhaps the reason for such a full month. MediaTek has already shown its new chip and now we wait for Qualcomm.

The Snapdragon Summit 2024 starts today and runs until the 23rd, so we’re going to hear a lot of news about the chip and OEMs who plan to rely on the chip. Well, that has already started as Realme has made its SoC plans for the GT 7 Pro flagship very clear. It will rely on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Realme has detailed some of the specifications of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and it packs a lot of power

Realme is a Chinese manufacturer that does a pretty good job of releasing phones with impressive specs for much less than the competition. That’s not the brand’s only selling point, it also considers itself an innovator, and if you disagree, tell that to the fastest charging production phone ever: the Realme GT Neo 5. Plus, we’re talking about the same thing company that showed 320W fast charging.

Well, Realme will be showing off its flagship GT 7 Pro next month, but before that it has decided to confirm that it will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite inside.

The OEM opted for this vital piece of information today as Snapdragon Summit 2024 is currently underway. Thanks to Realme, we know that the chip will be built on a 3nm process, which will be Qualcomm’s first smartphone chip of that kind, and that it will have a 2 + 6 core configuration. With a clock speed of over 4GHz, this will be the most powerful Qualcomm chip in a phone, and it’s not even close. That’s exciting for the performance nerds.

The Realme GT 7 Pro will be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship in more than 10 markets

Realme is a Chinese manufacturer, so you might automatically assume that the Realme GT 7 Pro will stick to a China exclusive launch for the time being, but fortunately that is not the case. The Realme GT 7 Pro has been confirmed to launch globally and at the moment we know that it will be coming to India, Italy, Spain, Malaysia and Thailand.

In fact, Realme wants you to know that its next flagship will be coming to more than ten markets, making it the first Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship to launch on such a large scale. However, I’m using my judgment and don’t think it will make its way to North America, so keep that in mind if you plan on waiting for it.

There are rumors about some Realme GT 7 Pro specifications

We’re not completely in the dark about the Realme GT 7 Pro. We’ve heard a few leaks regarding the device’s spec sheet, so we’re expecting IP69 certification, a 6,000mAh battery, 120W fast charging, a 3x periscope telephoto camera, and a 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display.
