Charly Arnolt mentions ‘many cases’ of inappropriate behavior in Vince McMahon’s WWE

Former WWE interviewer Charly Arnolt, FKA Charly Caruso in the promotion, has stated that she witnessed many instances of bad behavior during her time with the promotion.

Arnolt was recently a guest on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” where she and several other former WWE personalities discussed Vince McMahon, following the recent “Mr. McMahon’ docuseries. Arnolt was asked about her experiences as a female personality in WWE.

“What I’ve always said is, if you don’t have thick skin, you shouldn’t be in the WWE,” she began. “Were there a lot of cases where I probably could have gone to HR for something minor or even something that probably had a little more edge? Yes. Was I the person to do that? No.”

She quickly clarified by saying that she was not mistreated during her time in WWE, but shared that the events behind the scenes in WWE would be strange to those not in the business.

“Now I’m not saying that I was, you know, mistreated in any way, but there were definitely things that happened at WWE that if an outsider got a glimpse of the inside, they would say, ‘What’s going on here? ? How do people work in these specific circumstances?’ But it’s just one of those things you dealt with when you worked for the WWE. I interview guys who wore nothing but little Speedos, so it’s kind of like work.”

Arnolt, who has presented other sports since her departure from the WWE, emphasized how women need to have thick skin in “many areas of television.”

Arnolt on her experiences with McMahon

Several cases of sexual misconduct have been leveled against Vince McMahon in recent years. Charly Arnolt stated that she did not get a clear picture of the real McMahon as she rarely worked with him during her time in WWE.

“From my perspective, I didn’t always get such a clear picture of who Vince McMahon was. I didn’t have to sit in on the writers’ meetings like a lot of people did. I basically showed up to work, was given a script (and told to) to say, ‘This is what you do.’ And I generally communicated with other people on the writing staff, my bosses, including Michael Cole in particular,” the former WWE personality revealed.

However, Arnolt added that she too, like many other WWE personalities, sought validation from McMahon, highlighting how the former WWE chairman rarely addressed everyone in the promotion.

“But what I will say is that even in my position where I didn’t interact with Vince on a regular basis, I think I, like everyone else, always strived to get validation from Vince McMahon, because if you ran into him , in the back, you know, in the arena or in the hallway, if he said something to you, it would mean something – even a simple “hello” because Vince often wouldn’t even address you when he would speak to you, it means that he thought you were doing something well, or he liked the way you were doing things, and especially if you had a ‘good job’ (comment).”

She added that some may have put their self-esteem aside to get validation from McMahon.
