Choreographer Remo D’Souza has issued a statement after he was charged in a fraud case against a dance troupe. He said he will cooperate with the investigation and present his side of the story soon.

Remo D’souza recently made headlines when reports claimed that the choreographer, his wife and six others had allegedly cheated a dancer and his company of Rs 11.96 crores. A case was registered against them at Mira Road police station. While the investigation was underway, the top choreographer took to his social media and issued a statement on the matter.

Taking to his Instagram, Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle D’Souza shared a joint statement. The couple said they would ask everyone not to ‘spread rumours’ before knowing the ‘true facts’. They wrote that they would cooperate with authorities and present their side of the story soon. They also thanked their friends, family and fans for their support during this difficult time.

The statement said: “It has come to our attention through media reports that a complaint has been registered for fraud in relation to a particular dance group. It is disheartening that such information is published. We would like to request everyone to refrain from spreading rumors before establishing the true facts. We will make our case in due course and will continue to cooperate with the authorities in every way possible, as we have done to date. We would like to thank our family, friends and fans for the outpouring of love and continued support. I always love Lizelle and Remo.”

The complaint also alleged that they were cheated between 2018 and July 2024.

On October 16, a case under sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Mira Road police station.
