‘Bad choice of approach…’: Arnold Palmer’s daughter responds to Trump’s unexpected tribute to golf legend

Golf legend Arnold Palmer’s daughter responded to Donald Trump’s unexpected tribute to her father, saying the references were “a poor choice of approaches” to honor his memory.
In conversation with the Associated Press news agency: Peg Palmer wears said, “There’s not much to say. I’m not really angry.”
“I think it was a bad choice to remember my father, but what are you going to do?” she added.
Wears said she had only had temporary encounters with Trump at events decades ago, but that her father and the Republican presidential candidate, an avid golfer who owns golf courses around the world, shared a particular kinship over “an interest in golf and a love for golf’. .”
Sometimes emotional as she recalls conversations with her father, who died in 2016 at the age of 87, Wears said her father “believed in the Republican Party.”

He shared an anecdote about fellow golfers’ reactions when they showered with Palmer, saying, “They said, ‘Oh my God. That’s unbelievable,'” which drew laughter from the crowd. “Arnold Palmer was all man, and I say that with all due respect to women,” Trump said.
“This guy was strong and tough. And I refuse to say it, but when he was in the shower with the other pros, they came out of there and they were like, oh my God,” Trump joked.
He suggested the evening would have been more fun if Palmer could have been on stage with him.
