Dead City season 2 confirms release date

The Walking Dead: Dead City has reached its second season release date, with fans not having to wait too long.

A spinoff of The Walking Dead, the AMC series follows Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel to a post-apocalyptic Manhattan filled with the living dead.

With the first season set to air in the summer of 2023, fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel, and they now have concrete news on a release date, as it was confirmed at New York Comic Con (via Variety) that the second season will arrive spring 2025.

“In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves stuck on opposite sides,” the logline reads. “As their paths intertwine, they come to realize that the way out for both of them is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.”

While the second season of Dead City is still a few months away, fans can look forward to several new additions to the cast, with Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, Keir Gilchrist, and Pooya Mohseni all appearing in some capacity.

The spin-off was so popular that a sequel film was officially greenlit ahead of the first season’s finale, with AMC’s Dan McDermott saying: “This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to blossom with a great first season. for Dead City.

“We can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more ziplining action with Maggie and Negan,” he added, with the renewal coinciding with the announcement of fellow spin-off show Daryl Dixon.

Although Dead City will return early next year, it is currently unknown whether this will include British audiences. The first season premieres here, over a year after its original US release.

The walking dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in Great Britain.
