Coroner confirms missing doctor found in Pickens County

PICKENS COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Pickens County coroner’s office said they were called to the search for a missing 67-year-old woman who was last seen Tuesday evening.

Officials said they responded to Horse Pasture Road and Laurel Valley Road Sunset, SC, for the woman, Dr. Carol Burger Poe, and her dog Riley were searching.

The coroner said Poe was found Friday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. According to officials, she was found in a ravine in Sunset with her surviving dog, Riley, near her.

Oconee County Emergency Management, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and Anderson County Technical Rescue assisted in the search.
