JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A woman, who worked as a coach at Williamsburg James City County Schools in 2022, is now facing charges after an alleged “inappropriate relationship” with a 14-year-old boy, according to court documents.

On August 13, police received a report of a possible inappropriate relationship between a 14-year-old boy and a 44-year-old woman. During the investigation, police conducted interviews and obtained cell phone downloads to identify the woman as Sarah Deaver of James City County.

Deaver was a cheerleading coach for Williamsburg James City County Schools and received temporary coaching compensation in the fall of 2022, the schools said. She is also a mother of three children.

Messages from the boy’s phone revealed messages between the two, according to court documents. After being confronted with the messages, Deaver admitted to sending “no more than ten” nude photos of herself to the boy, according to court documents.

Deaver also discussed plans with the boy to engage in future sex acts and how they would meet, stating that she should make the first move since he would not, according to documents.

She has been charged with two counts of using an electronic device to solicit a minor.
