Man sentenced to life in prison for incest, fornication and sexual assault of a child under 16

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A man has been sentenced to life in prison, with parole after 35 years, after he was convicted of incest, sexual assault of a child under 16 and indecency with a child aged 14 or 15.

The case against Gabino Galvez-Galvez began in 2023 when a witness told a local social service organization that she believed Galvez had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old victim.

The victim, an acquaintance of the defendant, told police that Galvez had sexually abused her since she was 14.

The state of Nevada had argued for a prison sentence of 35 years to life, arguing that the victim was particularly vulnerable as she had just moved away from family and friends at the age of 14 to live with Galvez.
