Child dies after fall from jeep in Khotang

An eight-year-old boy died after falling from a jeep in Ward 4 of Majhuwagadhi Municipality of Khotang District on Thursday evening. The incident took place near Siddheshwar cave on Diktel-Khanidanda road section.

The boy suffered serious injuries after falling on the road and was taken to Kathmandu for further treatment. However, when his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Halesi Tuwachung Municipal Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, information officer Mohan Pokharel said.

The driver, 45-year-old Govinda Katuwal, has been taken into police custody. Authorities are investigating further.
