Anupam Kher shares Govinda’s health update after bullet injury: ‘He is progressing well’

A few days ago, veteran actor Govinda was rushed to the hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. The 60-year-old actor’s licensed pistol misfired when he dropped it while placing it in the almirah. After several days of treatment at CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai, Govinda was discharged. In a recent development, Govinda’s brother met actor Anupam Kher to discuss the actor’s recovery and also his health.

On October 18, Anupam Kher shared a video on his Instagram account with Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar. The duo discussed, among other things, Govinda’s health after he was discharged from the hospital. In a note with the video, Kher said, “Meeting in the park: I was so happy to meet #KirtiKumar ji after a long time. Kirti Ji directed one of my favorite films #Hatya. We talked about many things including my friend’s leg injury and his younger brother #Govinda. It’s a relief to know he’s doing well.”

In the video, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actor also revealed that he met the director after years and revealed that Kirti Kumar directed his 1988 action thriller Hatya, which also starred Govinda. Later he asked why Kirti Kumar stopped making films, to which he replied that it all depended on the circumstances and went on to praise Kher. In one part of the note, Kher said, “We also talked about the time we spent together, 90s cinema and also the importance of kindness in life. Nice to meet you, my friend! See you soon with a film script! Yay Ho! #Memories #Kindness.”

This post from Kher caught the attention of actress Mahima Chaudhry, who wrote, “AK, you have this amazing ability to touch people’s hearts and bring out the best in them. He said, “You not only worked in my movie, but in my LIFE.” That also applies to me. Meanwhile, many of his fans said that they loved his film Hatya. One fan said, “Hatya is one of my favorite movies… I love everything about that movie… You’re right sir, we would love it if sir would make more films… #nothinglike90smovies.” Another wrote: ‘I loved Hatya. To date, it is Govinda’s best film.”

Talking about Govinda’s leg injury, the incident took place when he was reportedly leaving for Kolkata. After the bullet was removed from his leg, the actor shared an audio message with the media. He expressed his gratitude and said, ‘Namaste, pranam. This is Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings and my guru’s grace… I was shot, but the bullet was removed. I am very grateful to the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal. I thank you all for your prayers and support.” He was released from hospital on October 4.
