Dune prequel series confirms release date with new teaser

DuneThe upcoming prequel series has confirmed a release date in a new teaser.

Dune: Prophecywhich follows the origins of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood 10,000 years before the events of the films, was previously set to premiere in November.

A specific date has now been revealed for when the series will debut November 17 in the US on Max, and November 18 in the UK at 2am GMT on Sky and NOW.

In the latest teaser, Emily Watson’s leader Valya Harkonnen explains the Sisterhood, though they are threatened by Travis Fimmel’s charismatic soldier Desmond Hart.

He promises to “erase every trace of the sisters from our worlds,” and attracts the attention of the powerful Emperor Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong).

Dune: Prophecy It will also star Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina and Shalom Brune-Franklin, with Alison Schapker serving as showrunner after several behind-the-scenes changes.

The premiere news comes after the release date of the third Dune film was confirmed in July.

The IMAX Corporation has revealed that director Denis Villeneuve’s untitled sequel is set for release in 2026.

Speaking earlier Digital spy about a threequel after the success of Dune: part two earlier this year, the director confirmed that they are “in the early stages.”

“We are moving in the right direction,” he added. “A lot of work has been done, but there’s still a lot of work to be done to have something solid to shoot.”

Legendary Entertainment CEO Josh Grode added: “I think everyone is very excited and really enjoying this moment, and if Denis gets the script right and he thinks he can deliver another experience similar to what we just completed, then I won’t do that. I don’t see why not.

“We need to get all creative stakeholders on the same page and support the vision.”

Dune: Prophecy premieres on Max in the US on November 17 and on Sky and NOW in the UK on November 18.
