Auburn man gets 15 years for sexually abusing teen

An Auburn man was convicted in Cayuga County Court of sexually assaulting a teenager.

Gerald Hoffman, 49, was sentenced this week to 15 years in prison and an additional 15 years of post-release supervision.

He was convicted of attempted first-degree rape after sexually assaulting a 17-year-old in 2023.

Hoffman was found guilty in a three-day trial, prosecutors said.
