Denver woman sentenced to prison after stealing nearly 0,000 from employer

A Denver woman was sentenced Thursday to a year and a day in prison after stealing nearly $500,000 from Amazon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Tiffany Vo, 37, accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to wire fraud for stealing $483,393.58 from Amazon, her employer, federal officials said in a news release.

Vo worked for Amazon and managed virtual employee programs between the summer of 2020 and at least June 2022, the news release said.

During that time, Vo fabricated invoices and expense reports to claim reimbursement of hundreds of thousands of dollars for corporate events that were canceled, federal officials said in the news release.

Vo spent the stolen money on a variety of personal expenses, including designer handbags and sunglasses, payments on her apartment, two vehicles, exercise equipment and thousands of dollars in beauty products, federal officials said.
