Antigo man accused of distributing and receiving CSAM

ANTIGO, Wis. (WSAW) – A federal grand jury has returned an indictment alleging that a 34-year-old Antigo man received and distributed child sex abuse material (CSAM).

According to the indictment, Jacob Theisen is accused of distributing CSAM via the Internet on or about January 20, 2023. The indictment further alleges that Theisen also received CSAM via the internet on June 12, 2021.

If convicted of either offense, Theisen faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years. He also could be fined up to $250,000 and would have to register as a sex offender under state and federal law.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood uses federal, state and local resources to better locate, arrest and prosecute those who exploit children online. rescue victims.
