11-month-old boy found asleep during drug bust in Ridgeland

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) – A young child was found sleeping during a drug bust in Ridgeland.

According to authorities, the drug bust took place on October 1 at a home on Planters Grove.

During the search, police seized approximately 9.7 pounds of marijuana, 32 ounces of THC wax and approximately 2.7 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.

Two rifles and two AR-style pistols were also recovered.

Police also revealed that an 11-month-old child was found sleeping in the bedroom “in close proximity” to the unsecured firearms and narcotics.

Child Protective Services was notified and the child was placed in the care of a family member.

Justyn Wilson was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence and child endangerment.
