21-year-old man arrested after flower pot toppled and soil spilled outside Pasir Ris flat

A 21-year-old man was arrested for harassment by loan sharks after an overturned flower pot and some spilled soil were found outside a flat at 52 Pasir Ris Street.

The police were informed of the case on October 13 around 5:45 p.m.

Through follow-up investigations and with the help of police camera images, officers from the Bedok Police Division established the man’s identity and arrested him two days later.

One mobile phone was seized as evidence.

The man was due to be charged in court on October 17 under the Moneylenders Act 2008.

People found guilty of intimidation of loan sharks for the first time will be punished with a prison sentence of up to five years, a fine of between $5,000 and $50,000, and caning of up to six strokes.
