No officers seriously injured in shooting at DeConcini port of entry

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – No law enforcement members were seriously injured in a shooting at the border in Nogales on Wednesday, October 16.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has confirmed that a shooting occurred at the DeConcini port of entry, leaving one injured and taken to a hospital in Tucson.

CBP said it happened in the southbound lanes and the roadway will remain closed until the investigation is complete. Northbound traffic will be reduced but still open. Drivers attempting to enter Mexico are asked to use the Mariposa port of entry.

CBP said the Office of Professional Responsibility, the FBI and Homeland Security are investigating.
