Dalton Castle confirms he is nursing a torn biceps and hopes to return in January

Dalton Castle tells how he was injured in a freak accident.

Dalton Castle has been out of action since July after suffering an injury during his match against Roderick Strong at the AEW Collision taping on July 10.

Dalton Castle spoke about the Alison Rosen is your new best friend and discussed the injury, noting that it was a freak accident. (H/t Jack Wannan van POST Wrestling)

“It was the last game I had,” Castle said. “The guy I wrestled, just a little accident happened and it (left bicep) hurt. I panicked. The guy I was wrestling took a cheap shot at me, or took advantage of the situation. It sucks. I was going to go hiking in Calgary the next day. I lost the race, and then I lost my hike, and now I spend every day in physical therapy, and on the weekends I go antiquing.

“That’s where I find my happy place, buying old mugs… The injury wasn’t his fault, but he just didn’t give up after that. I thought we were friends, me and this guy. I was like, ‘Hey, I need a minute.’ He said, ‘No, no timeouts.’ … I don’t want to get into it.”

Dalton Castle on his potential return

Castle noted that he hopes to return in January. Meanwhile, he explained that he is currently trying to stay away from wrestling apart from supporting his friends. He noted that the time off is “crappy,” and he sometimes gets angry about the setback.

“I try not to think about it too much,” Castle said of wrestling. “Free time sucks. I just focus on enjoying the time off and working on getting better, without looking at what’s happening in wrestling and trying to take my mind off it. Except (for when) my friends will do something cool and I have to watch it and get sucked into it and get excited, and then I recognize that I’m still very hurt and get angry. It’s a strange rollercoaster cycle of emotions.”

Castle is a former ROH World Champion and ROH World Television Champion. He is also a two-time ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion.

WrestleZone wishes Dalton Castle the best of luck in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
