Greenville man is facing multiple sex charges involving a child

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Greenville man is in jail on a $2 million bond after officers say he inappropriately touched a child when she was eight or nine years old.

Joel Palma-Duarte is charged with four counts of sexual offense with a child by an adult, and indecent liberties with a child.

Pitt County deputies say they began their investigation on June 12. They say the victim is now 12 years old.

Palma-Duarte, 27, turned himself in at the Pitt County Detention Center today.
