Peoria man convicted of killing his wife in 2019

PEORIA (25News Now) – A Peoria man received a 45-year prison sentence Wednesday for the 2019 murder of his wife.

68-year-old Michael Vorrath was convicted in August of the murder of 60-year-old Nancy Vorrath.

She was found unconscious with her head in a sink filled with water in her Lexington Court home.

Her cause of death was drowning, but she also suffered multiple blunt force injuries.

Michael Vorrath’s lawyers claimed he was trying to save her.

Vorrath must serve 100 percent of his sentence.
