Activision confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 preload and global launch times, PC system requirements and 102GB storage requirement

Activision has announced a long list of launch information for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ahead of its global release date of October 25, 2024.

In a blog post, the publisher confirmed preload and global boot times, minimum and recommended PC system requirements, and a surprisingly light 102GB storage requirement.

Call of Duty has had a huge storage footprint for years, which spiraled out of control when Activision forced the installation of Battle Royale Warzone alongside the main Call of Duty games. For Black Ops 6, however, Activision has changed its approach so that Warzone is a separate download on PC, resulting in the more manageable 102GB SSD storage requirement.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Preload Launch Times for PC

Activision has confirmed that those who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 digitally on PC will be able to preload the game ahead of its October 25 launch date, meaning they’ll be able to play as soon as it goes live.

Preloading starts for everyone at 9am PT on October 21st. This allows you to download the entire package, including Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies.

Black Ops 6 will also launch directly into Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service, on console, PC and the cloud, only through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It’s the first Call of Duty game to launch on Game Pass on day one, and comes a year after Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Incidentatlly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will also be available via Game Pass via the cloud on October 25. You need Game Pass Ultimate to play both games via the cloud.
