Former Staffordshire police officer accused of child abuse

A former Staffordshire police officer has been charged with a sexual offense involving a child.

Ryan Clinton, 30, from Tamworth, was charged with attempted sexual communication with a child.

The offense is alleged to have taken place in 2023 when he was a police officer with Staffordshire Police, the force said.

He is due to appear at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
