“The wilderness is now our prison…” Saban Films has unveiled the official trailer for White outan intense survival thriller film from Canada. The film premiered under its original title Hiking offer instead, it was screened at a film festival in late 2023, and will now be released this fall in November. However, that original title is a bit clunky and strange White out is also too general and doesn’t tease anything about this story at all. This is the thrilling survival story of three men who escape from a Russian labor camp and the treacherous wilderness and must overcome each other as their journey turns into a brutal fight for survival. Directed by Derek Barnes, who says: “As a stuntman he became a filmmaker, Hiking offer is a dream come true. From dangling off cliffs to falling into frozen lakes, climbing mountains and smashing trucks through fences – this is the type of independent, high-octane, entrepreneurial project I’ve always wanted to tackle.” White out stars James McDougall, Douglas Nyback& Joel Labelle as the three men chasing freedom, plus Ian Matthews as the angry man. This is no standard survival thriller: there are a lot of big guns in it! Look.

This hard thriller film opens with an armed robbery at the Russian offices of an international company. Some workers are brutally kidnapped and held hostage and end up in a labor camp in the middle of nowhere. Two hardened inmates, Kurt and Anthony (Douglas Nyback and Joel Labelle), rescue Henry (James McDougall) from the lustful grasp of another inmate and his accomplice. Henry finds himself in a position to help his new associates escape, triggering a chaotic prison break that engulfs the men and the other prisoners. Those who make it out alive will encounter several days of deadly terrain and grueling obstacles on their survival journey. White outalso titled Hiking offeris directed by stuntman/action filmmaker Derek Barneswhich made his feature film debut after a few other shorts previously; plus a lot of stunt work earlier. The screenplay was written by Derek Barnes, James McDougall and Douglas Nyback. Produced by James Mark, Bruno Marino and Todd Slater. The film first premiered last year at the Another Hole in the Head Film Festival 2023. Saban Films debuts White out in select US theaters + from VOD November 22, 2024 this fall.
