Man held for stalking and harassing a minor girl in Thane | Thane News

THANE: A 30-year-old man was arrested for stalk and harassing one 11 year old girl in Thane district, Maharashtra, on Tuesday.
The suspect allegedly followed the girl several times when she was returning from school and tried to grab her and urged her to get into an auto-rickshaw.
According to police, “the man also threatened to harm the girl if she informed anyone about the crime.”
The girl’s mother filed a police report on Sunday, leading to the man’s arrest.
The accused has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force against women with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual acts) intimidation), 78 (stalking), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
