The Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod has issued a verdict in an administrative case against stand-up comedian Dmitry Gavrilov, who was charged under Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (public actions aimed at discrediting of the use of armed forces). “On September 6, 2024, an employee of the Central Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region discovered that a video clip of Gavrilov had previously been posted on YouTube video hosting, which contained negative information about the actions of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, humiliating the Russian military service system and the image of a Russian officer,” the report said.

Gavrilov fully admitted his guilt and repented. The court, after examining the evidence, concluded that Gavrilov’s guilt in this crime had been proven.

The court sentenced him to a fine of 30,000 rubles.

Before the concert, the artist was arrested and by court decision was found guilty of an offense under Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (incitement to hatred or enmity). The comedian received thirteen days of administrative arrest.

After the arrest, Gavrilov recorded a video in which he admitted his mistakes.

The reason for the detention was one of the comedian’s videos on Gavrilov’s YouTube channel, which was published in September last year. According to a linguistic study conducted by specialists of the Dobrolyubov NGLU, signs of humiliation of human dignity were revealed in the video.

While Gavrilov was serving an administrative arrest, it became known that an administrative case had been filed against him under the article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
