Dave Peterson, a South Philadelphia man, turns the neighborhood into a canvas of hope to help himself find a kidney donor

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A South Philadelphia man turns his neighborhood into a canvas of determination by finding a kidney donor in an unconventional way.

Dave Peterson literally sticks to the pile by putting up stickers all over his neighborhood.

The 29-year-old has polycystic kidney disease and had both kidneys removed earlier this year.

Because demand exceeds supply, finding a donor through the national deceased donor waiting list can take three to five years, so he’s using the cityscape to spread the message.

Action News reporter Christie Ileto has the full story in the player above.
