Gypsy Rose Blanchard advice offered for Erik Menendez And Lyle Menendez if they are ever released from prison.

While you’re talking to TMZ on Sunday, Oct. 13, Gypsy, 33, said Erik, 53, and Lyle, 56, should not rush their return to society if they get a new trial or if their grudge is upheld.

“It’s very difficult to come out in a world that has changed so much, even in the time I spent in prison… I would say take your time, you know, adapt,” Gypsy said at the outlet. “And get therapy because you need it in this kind of world (and) day and time.”

The brothers were convicted killing their parents, José and Kitty Menendezin Beverly Hills in 1989, and their case recently made headlines after being depicted in The one from Netflix Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez.

Erik and Lyle previously claimed they killed their parents in self-defense after years of abuse, and many people have called for a new trial. On October 3, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office George Gascon confirmed that a hearing is being considered due to the submission of new evidence.

While speaking to TMZ, Gypsy admitted that she was “not very well trained” in the Menendez case. However, she admitted that she became interested after the Netflix series premiered on October 7. Gypsy has also been open about her passion for abuse victims’ rights.

“I’m an advocate for victims of abuse in general and I’m all for prison reform, so … if the case is reviewed, hopefully something can be done,” she said. “Victims of abuse need to be advocated for more.”

Gypsy and then friend, Nicholas Godejohnwere found guilty of murdering her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard, in 2015 after years of abuse towards her by her mother. She was released in early December 2023, while Nicholas, 35, is serving a life sentence without parole for first-degree murder.

Dee Dee was believed to be suffering from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a mental disorder in which a caregiver makes someone sick or makes them believe he or she is sick to get attention.

During her release from prison, Gypsy relented she regretted killing her mother. “She was a sick woman and unfortunately I wasn’t educated enough to see that,” Gypsy said People at the time. “She deserved to be where I am, while I am in prison doing time for criminal behavior.”

She then revealed that she would have ended the abuse in a different way now that she is more aware of Dee Dee’s mental illness.

“I don’t know if I would go back to when I was a kid and tell my aunts and uncles that I’m not sick and that mommy makes me sick,” Gypsy – who currently has baby no. 1 expected Ken Urker – said. “Or if I went back to the point of that conversation with Nick and said to him, ‘You know what, I’m going to tell the police everything.’ I have quite a problem with that.”

She added that “no one will ever hear her say” that she is “glad to be dead” or that she is “proud” of what she has done. “I regret it every day,” Gypsy said.
