Gregg Wallace: Masterchef host denies inappropriate sexual comments

Gregg Wallace: Masterchef host denies inappropriate sexual comments

Wallace responded to the claims on social media on Monday, posting two Instagram stories.

In the first, he said the story was “immediately investigated when it happened six years ago by the BBC and the outcome was that I had said nothing sexual.

‘Do I have to repeat this again? I didn’t say anything sexual. Thank you for your time.’

He then posted a second story, saying: “No one accused me of flirting with anyone or hitting anyone six years ago.

“The reason I say this is because of my wife Anna. I have always been faithful to my wife Anna.”

He added that he had “never flirted with anyone or hit anyone” in the 12 years he was with his wife.

“It’s important that I stay faithful to my wife so that people don’t misunderstand that.”

Wallace is best known for co-presenting the cooking show MasterChef.

The allegations come at a difficult time for the BBC. Earlier this year, the company’s former top news presenter, Huw Edwards, was given a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to child abuse image abuse.

In August, Jermaine Jenas, who presented The One Show and appeared on Match of the Day for the BBC, was dismissed by the company after complaints about workplace conduct.

A BBC spokesperson said: “While we do not comment on individuals, any issues that arise are dealt with quickly and appropriately. We do not tolerate any form of inappropriate behavior and have robust processes in place.”
