Dachshund’s reaction when he sees someone he ‘loves’ during a walk melts hearts

The internet has fallen head over heels for a dog who couldn’t control himself when he recognized a human he loves during a walk.

The pup, aptly named Romeo, showed his love for a woman by running towards her at full speed, in an adorable video that went viral on TikTok with over 151,000 likes.

It was shared on September 29 on his special account @romeo_sausage and shows the fluffy dog ​​running towards the camera with full fur on a leash, while a woman is dragged behind him in an attempt to keep up.

Behind the camera you hear another woman laughing and welcoming him: “Hello! Romeo!”

She can’t even finish her sentence before she starts giggling, causing Romeo to disappear from view as he rushes into her arms.

In a caption, his owner wrote: “When Romeo sees someone he knows and loves, pick up your speed.”

And TikTok users loved it, with one commenter writing: “Ma’am, that rug is coming to you real quick,” receiving almost 10,000 likes for their words.

“The cutest street sweeper ever,” said another, while one wrote: “His legs are so happy to see you.”

One joked: “I honestly thought it was a bath sponge,” while Romeo’s owner replied: “Scrub a dub dub.”

Many asked what breed Romeo is, thanks to his unusual appearance. In his TikTok biography, his owner describes him as a long-haired and wired dachshund cross, in other words, a “silky sausage.”

When he’s not rushing to his loved ones in viral videos, Romeo’s story shows him being pampered and spoiled, cuddled at home and in the park, practicing recall, playing with toys and even his father and mother visits, while his owner explains in his videos. a comment that they got Romeo from family, not from a breeder.

While it’s very clear that Romeo has immense love for the person he ran to in the video, there are several ways a pet owner can tell if he has a bond with his dog.

Newsweek previously spoke to two vets, Jess Hockaday and Nick Horniman, who provided insight into the ways you can tell if your dog loves you.

Unsurprisingly, a happy, wagging tail topped the list, while a dog that follows you from room to room to be close to you is another positive sign. Both vets also pointed out that sharing toys is an indication that your dog loves and trusts you.

“It may be a sign that they consider you part of their pack. Sharing toys with you may indicate that they value your approval and enjoy playing together,” Horniman said.
