God called people much worse than Trump to do great things, like Paul killing Christians

Many Christians are refusing to vote in this year’s presidential race, with a significant number of Christians citing what they consider inappropriate behavior by Donald Trump. But is this attitude biblical? The apostle Paul, considered one of the greatest men in history and revered in the church for spreading the fledgling Christianity in the Middle East, murdered Christians under his former name Saul before becoming a believer.

King David ordered the husband of a woman he desired to go to the front lines of the battle to kill him, which happened. After he converted, God still allowed David to remain king, but four of his sons died prematurely. David was considered one of the greatest leaders in Biblical times, who defeated the Philistines, founded the Judean dynasty and united all the tribes of Israel under a single monarch.

David’s son, King Solomon, had a thousand wives and concubines, which he knew was wrong. He offered sacrifices for them to Molech, a god who required “detestable” acts to be performed. God punished Solomon by making him war with the Edomites and the Aramians, and by dividing his kingdom after his death. However, Solomon was still allowed to rule as king.

Moses committed murder, but became as legendary as David. He led the Jews out of captivity in Egypt and received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai.

One of Jesus’ twelve disciples, Peter the fisherman, initially refused to go with him, saying, “Depart from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” But his previous sins did not bother Jesus at all. Jesus replied, “Do not be afraid; From now on you will be fishing for people.” Peter became one of Jesus’ most respected and well-known disciples.

Canaanic prostitute Rahab protected two Israelite spies on her roof in Jericho from the king’s attempt to locate them. She helped them escape, and in return they ensured that she and her family survived the Israelites’ attack. Her son was Boaz, who married Ruth, and a later descendant of hers was Joseph, the father of Jesus.

Everyone knows the story of the adulterous woman who was about to be stoned in front of Jesus. The Pharisees and teachers of the law wanted to set a trap for Jesus, so they asked Jesus if she should be stoned in accordance with the law of Moses. Jesus responded by writing with his finger in the sand, “Let the one among you who is without sin cast the first stone!” The accusers stole away and Jesus said to the woman, “Go and sin no more.”

Some evangelicals are quick to point to rumors that Trump is having extramarital affairs as a reason not to support him. It doesn’t matter that most Democrats and Republicans — including evangelical Christians — revere JFK, who was infamous for his many extramarital affairs during his presidency.

In contrast, none of these rumors about Trump occurred while he was president. The most recent alleged affairs, with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, dated back to 2006. Trump wasn’t even a Republican at the time; he was a Democrat from 2001 to 2009. Nor was he a born-again Christian.

Respected evangelical pastor James Dobson said in 2016 that Trump then became a born-again Christian — long after the alleged affairs. He said televangelist Paula White led Trump to Christ at the time. In 2020, Trump confirmed that he had become a non-denominational Christian and no longer identified as a Presbyterian, the main Protestant denomination into which he was born.

The meaning of rebirth is that you are saved from your sins and can start a new life avoiding sin. Unlike the left, Christians adhere to the Bible and the teachings of Christ, which offer forgiveness to all. The left claims that Republican leaders who are Christians must be sinless – but that would be blasphemous, since no human being is sinless.

Trump is regularly surrounded by the country’s top evangelical leaders, including Franklin Graham and Robert Jeffress. I know because I worked for one of them, who told us about their regular meetings. They would not risk their names and reputations if he refused to atone for any sinful behavior. Trump is evangelical and not Catholic, so he doesn’t have to confess his sins to the clergy, that is, between him and God.

He is also not a Christian leader; he is a secular leader, so he is not subject to the same standards of accountability. For example, Christian leaders cannot be recent converts, so Trump didn’t even qualify. But the MSM simply glosses over this distinction.

The National Faith Advisory Board was formed out of the support of these prominent ministers before him. The National Catholic Register said the support for him from prominent evangelicals is “unprecedented” for a president. There are only a handful who don’t embrace him, and that may be because they have their own scandals.

Trump has done so much for Christians during his presidency that it could be argued that God is using him to accomplish good. Even in 2018, just over halfway through his term, the mainstream media acknowledged that he had probably done more for Christians than any president ever.

Even if you don’t believe God chose to use him, it’s still abundantly clear that Trump has done incredible things for Christians and plans to continue doing so, unlike Kamala Harris, whose agenda seems to be about stopping of ‘hate’. Christians and the promotion of abortion as ‘women’s health’. And it also doesn’t mean that Trump’s evangelical supporters “worship” him, as the left continually lies; that would also be blasphemous.

Most evangelicals understand it. Longtime evangelical leader Ralph Reed said Trump performed the best of any president ever in 2020, with 81% of their votes, compared to Joe Biden’s 14%. Biden’s share fell even further from Hillary Clinton’s 16% in 2016. Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition is on track to reach 7.2 million voters in battleground states.

Shame on the Christians sitting out these elections. If Harris wins, all the guaranteed destruction she causes will remain on their conscience forever.
