LG has not met the women of AAP who are seeking justice over the harassment of women doctors: Birla

Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla on Sunday confronted Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, claiming that he is completely ‘anti-women’, while the delegation of AAP’s elected women representatives, who had gone to meet him had to wait outside. the Raj Niwas unattended for hours.

She stated that it was a shame that the elected women representatives of Delhi had come to meet the LG after informing him in advance.

In a strong show of defiance, an AAP women’s delegation led by Birla had gone to LG’s residence on Sunday and demanded justice for a woman doctor who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a medical superintendent of a Delhi hospital.

She said the group comprising MLA Dhanwati Chandela, Preeti Tomar, Vandana Kumari, Bhavana Gaur and some women councilors stood outside the LG House for hours but to no avail. They condemned the continued abuse in the matter of the alleged harassment of the female doctor, stating that she was transferred instead of filing charges against the suspect.

Birla said, “We understand that the LG may have been busy, but he has a large staff: anyone could have met us. We stood outside his home for several hours, but no one spoke to us. No one even asked about the issue that brought us here,” she added. She alleged that a woman doctor was a victim of alleged misconduct at a government hospital in Delhi over the past year.

Birla further said that when the victim tried to contact officials and speak to the health minister, her plea was ignored and her complaint was never addressed.
