Brantley Gilbert’s wife gives birth to their baby on a tour bus

Shortly after the start of his Friday show in Mississippi, country singer Brantley Gilbert let fans down — albeit with good reason — when he rushed off stage due to an emergency: his wife had given birth.

Luckily for Gilbert, his wife Amber was nearby on the musician’s tour bus.

But there was no time for the hospital.

On Saturday, Gilbert repeated the wild story on social media.

“So last night might have been the craziest night of my life,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Seeing such an amazing woman do something so amazing is something I will never forget,” he wrote.

“Thank you to our road family who rallied around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little guy into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us crazy love and support, and most of all…Amber Gilbert, for fact that allowed me to love you and shows me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be.

A representative for Gilbert provided Fox News Digital with a post-birth photo.

Gilbert’s post included a video explaining the sequence of events. The singer started his performance but left the stage shortly afterwards. Footage of Gilbert backstage shows him running towards what was probably the exit of the venue.

The video then cuts to Gilbert on his tour bus, calling his mother to announce the arrival of her new grandchild. The camera flashes to a newborn baby lying on top of a towel. The photos in the montage show Amber lying on the couch while she is skin-to-skin with her child, while Gilbert looks at her admiringly.

“She’s a total savage,” Gilbert said of his wife, who had just delivered the couple’s third child.

“Well, I’m going to finish this show, and then I’m going to FaceTime you,” he tells his mother as the footage fades and he walks back onto the stage. It is unclear how long Gilbert was absent from the concert.

“We’re having a baby,” he announced to the crowd, which let out an ecstatic roar.

The couple announced on Mother’s Day that they were expecting their third child.

Gilbert’s next performance is scheduled for October 17 in Savannah, Georgia.
