Watch: Father is dragged under car after 9-year-old puts car in reverse

TOLEDO, OH – An Ohio father was hospitalized and now faces criminal charges after his 9-year-old son put a car in reverse and dragged his father under the car.

According to WTVG, police say the father, 36-year-old Clejuan Williams of Toledo, was allegedly drunk and teaching his child to drive. Dramatic video shows the moment his son put the car in reverse and dragged his father under the car as it rolled down the driveway and crashed into a pole.

According to police, Williams told his son to press a pedal and, not knowing which pedal, the son pressed the accelerator.

Williams’ neighbor said he is recovering in the hospital. He told him another story about what happened that day. Williams told his neighbor that he wasn’t trying to teach his son to drive; he said he was trying to get his keys back when the accident happened.

Police say he is charged with unlawful entrustment of motor vehicles and child endangerment.

“I just want to raise awareness that this can happen to anyone,” his neighbor told Storyful.
