Pharma trader files complaint of cheating of Rs 75L against Ghodasar couple

Ahmedabad: A pharmaceutical trader running his own wholesale of medicines from Raipur Chakla filed a complaint with Maninagar police on Sunday, stating that a couple from Ghodasar had cheated him Rs 75 lakh under the guise of investments.
Suresh Patel, 63, a resident of Jaynagar Society near Rambaug Crossroads, runs M Narandas and Company to sell medical-related products. In 2022, he met the accused, Viren Patel, a resident of Vishalapark Society in Ghodasar, and his wife Rekha. Patel, because they also ran a wholesale business in medical products.
Suresh said Viren told him to invest in a medical products wholesale business to get good returns. Suresh said he, along with his wife and a friend, had invested Rs 75 lakh in September and October 2022. For this investment, they signed an agreement through a notary, which stated that a notice period of 90 days had to be given before the agreement was terminated. .
In February 2024, Suresh went to meet Viren and Rekha to get his money back as he wanted to buy a new store. At that time, Viren and Rekha reportedly refused to return his money and threatened him with dire consequences. Suresh said he sent two legal notices to Viren and Rekha, but they did not respond. In the last week of February, Viren and Rekha locked their house and fled without informing Suresh, the FIR said. After that, Suresh applied to Maninagar police to file an FIR against them.
After three months, Rekha and Viren returned to their house, and a team from Maninagar police approached them regarding Suresh’s application, but they did not give a satisfactory response. Ultimately, Maninagar police registered a complaint of breach of trust, cheating, criminal intimidation and incitement to Viren and Rekha.
