North Adams man convicted of killing his wife with a hammer

(WGGB/WSHM) – A suspect has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife in Berkshire County.

According to the Berkshire County Prosecutor’s Office, Michael Cook Sr. found guilty Thursday of first-degree murder, with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

On July 11, 2019, Cook broke into his estranged wife Charli’s home.

Cook hit her with a hammer, causing significant brain damage.

Charlie died five months after that attack.
