My Hero Academia confirms season 8, the final season

My Hero Academia has documented Class 1-A’s final battle in the seventh season, so it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that the anime adaptation will have another outing in the tank. What may be surprising is that not only has Studio Bones confirmed that season eight will be the series finale, but anime fans won’t have to wait too long to see the results of the murderous duel between Deku and Shigaraki. In addition to the announcement, the production house responsible for UA Academy has also unveiled a new trailer, poster and specific details about the season that bids a loving farewell to anime’s greatest superheroes.

In the seventh season finale, the battle between Himiko Toga and Uravity came to an end, with the former coming to the realization that she might have lived a happier life if she had tried to help others by giving away her blood. On the other side of the battle, Toshinori Yagi, aka All Might, finally dons the long-awaited ‘Iron Man suit’ made from parts of his stylish ride, Hercules. Given All For One’s insurmountable power level, this isn’t a fight that All Might can win, but his goal is to stall for time and hopefully make the demon lord even younger. While there are still many questions surrounding season eight, it is certainly one of the anime’s most explosive seasons to date.

Studio Bones has released a new trailer and poster to confirm the eighth season and bring to a close Deku’s story to become one of the world’s greatest heroes. In addition to these tidbits, the production house also revealed that the season will begin in 2025, meaning fans won’t have to wait long to see the final showdown on the small screen. While a specific release date remains a mystery, shonen viewers may have to wait a year at most to see who will shape the future of Hero Society.
